Movie Review: King of Boys

King of Boys is a richly drawn and emotionally stirring drama directed by Kemi Adetiba. The film stars the delectable Sola Sobowale, Adesua etomi, Toni Tones and newcomer Paul Sambo who all come together to weave this thrilling tale of survival, power and politicking.
King of boys chronicles the seemingly business woman Eniola Salami played by the King Sola Sobowale, trying to further her political career while trying to maneuver through her gritty past.
We all know that Sola Sobowale is an amazing actress but you've never seen her quite as you will in this movie. Her performance was just too good for words, the subtle nuances, her presence were out of this world. She deserves to have flowers thrown at her feet everywhere she goes.
King of boys ensemble of amazing actors was just too surreal, Adesua was magnifique pardon my french, Toni Tones interpretation of the younger Eniola Salami was impeccable, she literally was the star in every single scene she appeared.
Paul Sambo had our attention from start to finish with his performance. Reminisce on another hand was a revelation, his acting was as bold and audacious as his character.
The dialogue especially the proverbs, costumes, the lighting, locations were marvellous. There was no unnecessary scene or dawdling, everything tied together to give this sweet piece of gloriousness.
I also liked that the movie was timely given the political climate and conversations concerning corruption in the nation, but despite this doesn't try to be preachy or purritan. It's finally good to see a Nollywood movie that doesn't end in "No sinner will go unpunished"
The movie takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride. You'll feel literally every emotion known to man. Ms. Adetiba promised us a treat and we were served in full.
In all, this is the best movie you'll watch this year. Quote me anywhere!!!!
